HOURS of action-packed family fun awaits at a local country park this weekend.

The Southampton Show returns to the Royal Victoria Country Park tomorrow and has an exciting list of attractions lined up.

The event made its comeback last year after the original Southampton Show was turned into the city's Balloon and Flower Festival in 1989.

This year the Balloon and Flower Festival, which took place in July on Southampton Common, also changed its name to the Southampton Festival.

Tomorrow's events get under way at 10am with Ray Prior's falconry display.

In the afternoon, skydivers will be making an appearance by jumping out of a helicopter and performing a wide range of acrobatics and daredevil manoeuvres on their way to the ground.

Round-the-clock entertainment will be provided in two main arenas until 5pm on both days and visitors will be spoilt for choice with things to watch.

There will be a variety of displays including appearances by the Tigers Motorcycle Display Team, Elite Helicopters, the Stallions of Substance and music by The New Forest Plonkers.

If you're wondering how to keep the children occupied then fear not - magician Ticklish Allsorts will be on hand with his box of tricks.

Animal lovers will also be in their element, as there will be an appearance by the Wessex Ferret Club as well as stallions and sheepdogs in the arena.

There will also be an impressive display of traction engines on parade and the International Guild of Knot Tyers will be making a guest appearance.

Tickets are priced £3 for adults, £2 for children and £2.50 for senior citizens.
