A FAMILY barbecue marked the end of a fortnight of fun for children from Thornhill.
The event, at Itchen Valley Country Park, was part of a £125,000 summer holiday programme organised and funded by Thornhill New Deal for Communities, in partnership with Hampshire and Isle of Wight Youth Options, Thornhill Youth Centre and Hampshire Police Authority.
Other activities included ice skating, a day at the seaside and a trip to Legoland.
The summer programme was part of the Hinkler Road Youth Project, supported by money from the NDC, which includes regular youth after school drop in sessions and youth workers who provide outreach support for young people.
"The family barbecue was a perfect end to our summer activity programme," said John Golden Wright, the Hinkler Road Youth Project manager.
