A WATERSIDE football team staged a 24-hour penalty shoot-out in aid of seriously ill children.
Members of Fawley AFC scored more than 3,400 goals during a marathon shoot-out in aid of the club and the Make A Wish Foundation, which makes dreams come true for youngsters with terminal illnesses.
Now the club is hoping the event will be recognised by the Guinness Book of Records.
Team captain Danny Walsh said: "There's no record for penalty shoot-outs at the moment so we're aiming to set the record, then break it next year.
"The shoot-out was really exhausting, but we did it in the end and everyone is really pleased.
Half the money raised will go to the Make A Wish Foundation, which we chose because we think they do great work in letting kids have their wish."
The event, which saw the team score 3,472 goals from 5,197 attempts, was held at the Waterside Sports and Social Club in Long Lane, Holbury.
