CLASSY Otterbourne oozed six appeal on their Wessex League 3 bow as they flattened Fleet Spurs 6-0 on their own Kennels Lane patch.
The rampant Otters boasted six different scorers as a frustrated Fleet side folded in the second half after they had been reduced to ten men - making it a miserable first game in charge for new Spurs manager Kieran Carron.
Otterbourne took the lead after 28 minutes when Steve Trott latched onto a long punt upfield and beat his marker before slotting past the keeper. Sub Danny Keyworth doubled their advantage and Liam Houghton scrambled a third.
A screaming 25-yarder from Jim Bedford made it 4-0, Gareth Mead netted from the penalty spot after Houghton had been felled and a Rob Fox header completed the Otters' sextet.
Fleetlands ran in seven goals without reply against Salisbury-based Dave Coleman AFC.
Mark Peach claimed the first-ever hat-trick of the new-look SWL Division 3 with two-goal Richie Swallow, Simon Everett and Lee Baldichinno rounding off their magnificent seven.
Fleetlands manager Neil McNamara beamed: "It's a great start and I'm very happy - we're now really looking to forward to hosting Paulsgrove tomorrow."
Neighbours AFC Portchester had to come from behind before overcoming Ludgershall Sports 4-1 at their White Hart Lane home.
Brendan Spanswick fired the North Hampshire club into a 40th minute lead but the home side turned things around before the break courtesy of quickfire replies by Chris Dickens and Tom Pearce.
Although Ludgershall had the better of the second half, further strikes from Pearce and Dickens sealed Portchester the points.
Much-fancied Farnborough North End opened their campaign with a 3-1 home success against Micheldever.
Rory Todd gave North End an eighth-minute lead only for Matt Woods to level from the penalty spot on the hour mark.
A looping header by Darren Sked restored the hosts' advantage and another header by Steve Lloyd on 70 minutes clinched the points.
A 75th minute strike by Kevin Booth earned Hamble a 1-0 verdict at Laverstock & Ford.
