HUNDREDS of homes in the Saxon Fields area of Andover should see their roads and street lighting adopted by Hampshire County Council 'soon'.
A spokeswoman for the county council said: "We want to get on with it and we are ready to adopt the roads soon but one road needs to be finished before we can do so.
"Officers are unhappy at the length of time it has taken but when Kiel Drive is finished the roads will be adopted."
Kiel Drive is the most important road on the 1,000 home development as it links all the roads on the estate.
Peter Wilson, who lives in Burnhams Close in Saxon Fields said he and his neighbours are fed up with the long wait for adoption.
"Roads that should have been cleared last year for handover now have weeds and grass growing through them," he said. "We have weeds over six feet tall outgrowing the 'shrubs' planted in the borders.
"We all pay council tax but we cannot claim a rebate for the lack of road cleaning services."
