THERE were four highlights from my day out to Teesside on Saturday.

Obviously, the most important was that Saints collected those precious three points at Middlesbrough.

What a great result. I was delighted James Beattie rediscovered his shooting boots. The win could mean more to us at the end of the season than right now.

After last season, perhaps we are becoming a bit of a bogey team at the BT Cellnet Riverside Stadium (almost trips off the tongue as easily as The Friends Provident St Mary's Stadium).

Even before I had got to the ground, my day had reached a fever-pitch at the exotic surroundings of Donnington Services on the M1 when, who should walk into the service station, but Brian the winner of the second series of Big Brother!

He was very friendly and just as amusing as on the show - not that I would know because as soon as I had spotted him my whole body resembled a bowl of jelly.

Never mind, because I had my sister with me so she went and got his autograph for us!

Not thinking the day could get much better after that, Saints did what we had all been waiting and hoping for and got a convincing win.

Then we heard that a 'big club' in north London had surrendered a 3-0 lead to Manchester United, going down 5-3.

The Saints supporter who phoned BBC Radio 5 Live probably spoke for many Saints fans when he said he had become a red devil for the afternoon.

To cap it off, Martyn Keown got sent off (not one of my favourite players)!

I hope you enjoyed as good a Saturday as I did!

This time I didn't get home until 11pm, but believe me I slept well.

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all 240 Saints supporters who travelled to the game.

We deserved that winning feeling as much as the players did.
