FATHER Christmas was given paws for thought when dogs temporarily replaced his reindeer - but it was all in the name of raising cash for the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association.
Santa was greeted by a group of guide dogs and their owners in his grotto at the Wyvale Garden Centre, Winchester Road, Fair Oak to launch the fundraising campaign.
It was all part of a festive effort to collect money for the charity through the spirit of Christmas.
A £1 donation from every entrance fee for children to see Santa at the garden centre will go to Guide Dogs for the Blind, while there is also the opportunity to get a souvenir photo with Father Christmas for £1.50, with all the cash going to the charity.
Fundraising development officer Ray Kerwood said: "Hopefully we will raise a lot of money for the charity and the children will enjoy themselves.
"It is very good of Wyvale to help us and assist us in this way and we are very grateful."
Santa can be visited at the centre on December on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and from December 19 to 24 inclusive.
