A leading local art gallery has secured a deal to supply 327 pictures for Cunard's Queen Mary 2.
Bembridge-based Island Fine Arts has concluded a deal with an Amsterdam art consultancy, Enterprise and Art, which is responsible for commissioning works of art for the new superliner.
Island Fine Arts will be supplying 15 original works, three in oil by artist Rod Pearce, and 12 pastels by Tony Allain.
Each of Tony's 12 works will be reproduced in limited editions of 26, and will be displayed in both private and public areas of the ship.
The largest of Rod's works will measure over 8ft by 3ft, and will be hung in one of Queen Mary 2's elegant stairways. Gallery director Nick Fletcher said: "We are absolutely delighted to be involved with this project, and hope that it leads to further involvement with the Dutch-based international consultancy."
Queen Mary 2, at 150,000 tonnes, will be the largest passenger liner in the world when launched in the spring of next year.
