WALKERS can now take in much of the Hamble peninsula along a new self-guided trail launched this summer. It extends the existing Hamble Valley Strawberry Trail from Botley to Hamble to incorporate Royal Victoria Country Park, Netley and Bursledon.
The 15-mile easy to moderate walk takes in woodland, farmland, Manor Farm Country Park, picturesque old villages, attractions and superb views of the River Hamble.
The new route, together with a map, is detailed in the free Coast to Countryside leaflet available from Hamble Valley Tourism.
Much of the trail follows the River Hamble, an important natural area as the mudflat and salt marsh habitats found alongside the river support a number of different plants and animals.
