CAR park: All villagers should have received a flyer regarding the resurfacing of the village hall car park. If not, it will be through your door soon.

Briefly, the surface will be black Bitmac with chippings.

So, the finished surface will look similar to the present one, but without the problem of loose pebbles.

BEAUTIFUL! The Evergreens had a day out on July 13 to the New Forest.

Jean said: "It was a lovely tour, we had beautiful weather and it was great to see the New Forest ponies. Some of them looked like they were waiting for the pub to open!"

The group stopped at Bullington on the way home.

PARISH council: It met on July 13, and the three vacancies have now been filled by co-option, so we have 10 councillors covering Sherfield and Taylors Farm wards.

The allotment agreement has been reviewed and will be presented to the allotment holders at their annual meeting in September.

Members of the public are urged to report to the police if they witness or are suspicious of any crime or anti-social behaviour on 0845 0454545.

The tennis courts are due to be repainted.

The next meeting is on Tuesday, August, 10, starting at 7.30pm, at Liddell Hall.

SCHOOL'S out: Schools and playgroups have now broken up for the summer.

I wish all the children an enjoyable and safe holiday.
