ACTIVITIES: Well, the school holidays are here once again, and there are a number of activities planned in the village to keep the "little" ones busy.
All this kicks off with the Village Show on July 31. It's not too late to pick up an entry form from Redwoods in the village.
On the day there will be stalls and craft demonstrations, along with activities for children.
The Play Council is holding another of its fantastic playschemes in the village.
It will be held from next Monday to Friday, and will be at the junior school, from 1.30pm to 4.30pm.
For more information, call 01256 848847.
Ludwig Leisure is running another sports week from August 2 to 6, also at the junior school.
At this, you will be able to have a whole week of football or sign up for a number of other activities in the multi-sports sessions.
You can book for the whole week or just on a per session basis by telephoning 01256 397008 for further information.
LITTER: Many residents have commented recently on the increased levels of litter around the village, particularly in the Kennet Way park area.
Please encourage your children to put their litter in a bin.
The same goes for dog mess - if you are one of the irresponsible dog owners who still live in Oakley, please clean up after your pet. Dog mess can lead to blindness in young children, so please be considerate.
