MASTS: A meeting, organised by council officers, was due to be held last week to discuss the plans for the four proposed masts along Cliddesden Lane with operators 3, T-Mobile, O2 and Orange, as well as councillors, campaigners and representatives of the Portsmouth Estate.
YOUTH ideas: The office at the community centre has come up with a list of ideas and possible youth projects following talks with local young people.
Among the possibilities is that of a youth worker for Hatch Warren, but funding would have to be found for this.
There is also a possibility that voluntary youth workers - suitable local people who have some spare time and energy - could be used on a part-time basis.
If you would be interested in this or if you have any other ideas, contact the office on 811262.
HOLIDAY club: Basingstoke Play Council will be running a holiday club at the community centre throughout the school holidays for children aged five to 12.
It will be open between 8.30am and 6pm weekdays but places must be booked in advance. For further details please call 844847.
PLAYSCHEME: The Play Council will also be running a one-week open access playscheme (weather permitting) on the community centre fields for children aged five to 11.
It will be from August 16 to 20, 1.30pm until 4.30pm, and will include a range of outdoor activities.
As it is open access, children are free to come and go as they wish.
