STARLINGS Too Pre-school: The pre-school, at Hill Rise Hall, Bach Close, Gershwin Road, held a beach party on July 9.

People living near the hall may have seen building work going ahead recently. The alterations are linked to providing better facilities, including a new toilet, to suit disabled people.

During the building work, access to the hall has been at the rear, near the play area.

Manager Jean Smith welcomed parents and children to the summer party.

Beach hats and flippers were worn for water-play.

Other activities for the children included making pictures of boats, fishes and sea shells. A model village included a railway station, fire station, and garage as well as a road network.

Children could play in sand and make sand pies, decorated with flags and shells. Others solved puzzles about the seaside and life beneath the waves.

Playdough was used to create small animals and birds. Some children were happy to have their faces painted with flowers and butterflies on their cheeks, while others were making sandwiches with ham, cheese or jam.

The party was a special occasion at which the young ones could have fun at the end of the summer term.

Jean wishes parents to know that there will be a few vacancies for new infants in September 2004. Furthermore, Starlings Too had a successful Ofsted inspection recently.

Please would parents looking for places for pre-school infants keep in mind Starlings Too.
