VULNERABLE youngsters enjoyed a day spent learning the ropes on board a race yacht at Ocean Village, Southampton.
The seven who took part were chosen from charities Team First and Fairbridge Solent, which work closely with young people to develop their confidence, motivation and skills.
Tony Maybery, manager of Fairbridge Solent said: "Helping individuals challenge their own behaviour and attitudes is a vital step to a successful future.
"This is a tremendous opportunity for young people to continue to develop their skills and confidence in such an exciting way."
The yacht called the Barclays Adventurer is one of 12 that will take part in the Global Challenge Race later this year. Barclays bank has also donated more than £105,000 to Team First and Fairbridge Solent.
