MORE than 600 School children from 21 primary schools in and around Andover took part in the recent Andover Festival of Sport on Tuesday 13 July at Charlton Sport and Leisure Centre.

Children who take part have the opportunity to experience a 45 minute taster session in six different Sports where coaches from local clubs pass on all their expertise and experience.

This year Andover's Cricket, Rugby, Hockey, and Athletics clubs were all represented as well as David Bonthuys Ohdokwan Tae Kwon Do and Reading Football Club.

The annual event is organised by Leisure Services at Test Valley Borough Council and is designed to provide children with a whole day of sporting fun as well as familiarise them with local clubs and coaches.

Following the day children are sent information on the local clubs involved and when training sessions take place allowing them the feed into junior sections.
