A NUMBER of successes have come the way of ice skaters at Basingstoke's Silver Drome Arena.
The adult Dj Vu team won the silver medal in the show-number class at the Bracknell Adult Open Competition with their circus-themed presentation.
The Basingstoke Ice Skating Club team comprised Sue Ellen Giles (captain), Stuart McCrerie, Max Wilton, Jean Curtis, Janet Griffiths, Julia Wheeler, Carol Atkinson and Jane Rogerson.
Gosport Ice Skating Club won the gold.
At the same competition, Susan White won a bronze medal in the improvisation class and Margaret Goodfellow won a bronze medal in the beginners' free skating.
The Junior Skating Club's annual ice dance competition saw skaters aged from five to 12 make up their own routines.
They had a choice of three pieces of music to dance to, including rock and roll, a waltz and jazz.
The top three were 11-year-old Helen Foster, Gemma Sanders, who is eight, and Sarah Howard-Jones, who is seven.
Basingstoke teams were well-placed after they hosted their annual recreational ice dance evening and league match.
They compete in the Central League against Slough, Guildford, Gosport and Coventry.
The Basingstoke junior team are currently in joint third position, along with Slough.
In the senior competition Basingstoke are fourth.
Basingstoke's team includes Sue Ellen Giles (captain), Carol Atkinson, Stuart McCrerie, John Barrie-Smith and Jane Rogerson.
