BUDDING star athletes from Eastleigh have been running away with some top awards.
Members of Eastleigh and District Junior Athletics Club scooped a clutch of medals at their debut appearance at the Hampshire Athletics Association Track and Field Championships held at Portsmouth's Mountbatten Centre.
The club, based at Toynbee School, Chandler's Ford and supported by Eastleigh Council, came away with eight medals and 39 personal bests.
They were achieved across a range of male and female age categories from under-13s to under-17s in various track and field events.
Honorary secretary Jacqui May says: "All our young athletes had a great day with all the athletes performing well and proudly representing the Eastleigh area.
"This was our first visit to these championships and our performance gives all our athletes something to build on in the future."
