Sprinter Cassie Gear served up two Grade 1 performances for New Forest Juniors in the UKA Young Athletes' League Division 2 SouthWest at Portsmouth.

The Hardley schoolgirl, a 300 metres semi-finalist at the recent English Schools' Championships, stormed to an under-17 women's double over 100m (12.3 seconds) and 200m (25.5).

Hayley Pointer, another of NFJ's English Schools contingent, also celebrated twin success in the 800m (2.23.5) and the 300m (43.9), while Laura Marzaroli held on to win the B 300m in 45.8.

In the under-13 girls' category, Alice Cole led from gun to tape in the 1,200m (4.22.4) and there were wins for Zara Martin (B 75m, 10.8), Becky McMonagle (B shot, 6.62) and the 4x100m relay quartet of Zara Martin, Jade Nixon, Chrissy Parsons and Ailsa Roberts (58.1). Impressive all-rounder Parsons capped a great day by taking the field athlete-of-the-match award.

NFJ's under-15 girls' relay team - Tiffany Markham, Chloe Foot, Rosie Cooper and Aishling Kerr - also blazed to victory in 55.1 seconds, adding to individual wins from Markham (75m hurdles, 12.6), Dani Gray (B javelin, 12.62), Lucy French (A shot, 7.17) and Becky Gray (B shot, 5.85).

NFJ return to action in the National Junior League (Itchen Division) at Crawley this Sunday.
