AUSSIE legend Shane Warne has told Dimi Mascarenhas, the Hampshire all-rounder snubbed by England for the ICC Champions Trophy squad: "You'd walk into ours!"
Rose Bowl skipper Warne was "shocked" when he heard that Mascarenhas, who helped Hampshire to a remarkable totesport League win at Kent last night, had been left out of the 30-man provisional England squad for September's ICC Champions Trophy.
Warne said: "It's a real slap in the face for Dimi not be in that 30.
"I couldn't believe it because he'd definitely be in our 30."
Coming in at No 7, Mascarenhas last night equalled his highest-ever one-day score for Hampshire with 79 out of 146 all out - 54 per cent of his side's total.
Kent then slumped from 90-2 to 124 all out with Warne claiming 3-24.
Mascarenhas, meanwhile, believes he WILL one day play for England.
"I'm not really thinking about it (the snub)," he said. "I'm just going about my business, trying to win games and be consistent with the bat and the ball.
"I'm sure my opportunity will come at some stage."
