Sir.-I am writing with reference to the Winklebury Carnival, which will be taking place on Saturday, July 24, on the Winklebury playing fields.
As well as having lots of fun, the main purpose is to raise money to help local people and charities.
With this in mind, we would ask residents of Winklebury and anyone else who shops in our local stores, Somerfield and John Burtons Food Market, to help us.
A donation box has been placed in both stores and we ask that shoppers put an item of their shopping into that box, so that we can then use it on our tombola stall at the carnival.
Finally, I invite everyone to come along and join in the fun at the carnival. If you want to hold a stall, car boot sale or even put on a display in the arena, there are places left. Call us on 330375 to book.
