GREAT news: The Four Lanes Schools' summer fete, held recently, raised over £3,300!
The Friends of Four Lanes would like to thank all those who helped out on stalls and to those who turned up despite the somewhat grotty weather!
DISAPPOINTMENT: Neighbourhood Watch regrets that it had to cancel its Cycling Treasure Hunt.
As many will have found out when they turned up on Sunday, one of the fields had turned into a swamp and was impassable. The organisers are aiming to rearrange it for some time in September.
WHAT'S on at the library: This summer's reading scheme is the "Reading Roller Coaster" which will run from tomorrow until September 4.
The aim is to read as many books as possible with a reward available for each book read!
For more details, contact the library on 465643.
DON'T forget: The Chineham Medical Practice has now changed its opening hours. The surgery will now open from 8am to 6.30pm, with first and last appointments being at 8.15am and 6pm respectively.
GARDEN competition: Gardens are to be judged this weekend, so watch this space!
AND FINALLY: Hampshire County Council has at last engaged contractors to slightly improve pedestrian and cycle access to the old railway bridge at the southern end of Reading Road.
The mounds protecting the green triangle have been beefed up by the council to prevent illegal access by vehicles.
