England Seniors Amateur champion David Lane won the John Nettell Trophy at Brokenhurst Manor in decisive fashion, returning a gross 144 to come home five shots clear of Gordon Broster from Padbrook Park.
Phil Young did the host club proud by finishing in third place.
The tournament host John Nettell scored his age in the second round, a 75, to win the over-70s category, while another Brokenhurst legend, Mike Toole, was first in the over-60s ahead of clubmate Norman Barnes. Mike Beal capped a good day for the host club with second spot in the over-55 competition. Maxwell Opticians sponsored the event.
