BARMY knights and balmy days provided sunshine and chivalry for thousands of visitors to the Fordingbridge Show at the weekend.
Medival jousting displays by the Devil's Horsemen display team and an exhibition polo match put equestrian events centre stage despite the absence of the traditional horse show. Heavy horses provided additional crowd-pulling power with a wagon parade, tug of war and bareback racing derby in the main ring.
Chickens and other farmyard fowl including ducks, geese and turkeys were put in the spotlight as BBC wildlife presenter and poultry enthusiast Chris Packham brought along his own chickens and a film crew to the show to record clips for future screening.
"It has been a wonderful show with fantastic weather and people turning up in their hordes to enjoy some really exciting events.
"There really was something for everyone," said publicity officer Catherine Short.
