What's on the Hampshire music scene this weekend.

POP Idol contestant Andy Scott- Lee and his sister, ex-Steps member Lisa Scott- Lee ,will be performing some of their hits at the relaunch of The Bowlplex in Havant tonight.

Bowlplex is holding a three-day party in celebration of Havant's refurbishment.

There will be free bowling for all tonight between the hours of 5.30pm and 7.30pm.

There will be a wide variety of entertainment throughout the weekend including children's entertainers and face-painting.

DUE to circumstances beyond The Anvil's control, the concert with Gwyneth Herbert and Will Rutter due to play tonight has been postponed.

The new date will be on Sunday October 31, with Gwyneth Herbert alone, following the release of her new album in September and will now be in the main auditorium at the Basingstoke venue.

THE Geoff Eales Trio trace the transition of jazz piano, from its ragtime roots to contemporary styles, at the Concorde Club International Jazz Night on Wednesday.

Geoff Eales has been playing jazz since he was eight years old, encouraged by his father, an established dance band pianist.

Bud Powell, Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillispie also inspired Geoff.

In 1977 he moved to London joining the leading society band of Joe Loss. One year on he has been offered opportunities in the BBC Big Band and Radio Orchestra, which created opportunities to work with Nelson Riddle and Billy May.

By the end of his time with the BBC in 1983 Geoff had featured in no less than a thousand broadcasts.

In January 2003, Geoff played at London's Royal Festival hall performing the piano solo Rhapsody in Blue.

MAMMA Mia the Abba tribute show is at The Pavilion Theatre in Bournemouth tonight.

The concert is perfect for fans of Abba, the Bee Gees, Grease, and other music of the 60s and 70s.

ON SUNDAY The Back To Basie Orchestra is coming to the Regent Centre, Christchurch.

Coming from the official Count Basie Society, it is fair to say that recommendations don't come any higher.

The Back to Basie Orchestra will be recreating all of the Count's classic hits.

Almost 20 years after his death, the great Count Basie has found immortality through this superb 17-piece band, led by trumpeter Paul Lacey.

The band will be swinging the blues Basie-style as they play unforgettable standards such as: April in Paris, Corner Pocket and Whirly Bird.

Joining The Back To Basie Orchestra live at the regent will be vocalist Anita Wardell, who will be reprising all those famous Ella Fitzgerald/Count Basie hits, alongside a recreation of the great band leader's septet, The Kansas City Seven.

THE first gig at the Mash Tun in Winchester under its new management takes place tomorrow. The Julie Burridge Trio, better known as Big Bird, will be performing a great selection of songs from Nina Simone, Ella Fitzgerald, Portishead, and some of Julie's own songs. The evening will also feature a guest performance from new Mash Tun owner Jan Wisniewski, formerly with the Flying Jaspers, on soprano sax.
