ECB Southern Electric Premier League, Division 1 leaders South Wilts face the last side to beat them tomorrow.

And Hampshire's Academy side can split the championship race wide open if they can repeat at Lower Bemerton, 11.30am, their win of mid-May.

South Wilts, however, have won seven successive games since that Rose Bowl reverse - and have established themselves as title favourites into the bargain.

The Salisbury club name a full strength side for tomorrow's BBC Radio Solent feature match, but Tony Middleton is using the game to blood several trialists.

Tom Burrows, who is having treatment on an on-going wrist problem, David Wheeler and Matt Metcalf are among those stood down in favour of three fresh-faced trialists.

Despite their run of success, South Wilts captain Rob Wade believes the title race will go to the wire.

"BAT Sports, Havant and ourselves all meet in the last three weeks of the season, and I honestly can't see anything being decided until then," he said.

Defending champions BAT Sports look to have a comfortable derby against Old Tauntonians & Romsey at the Romsey Sports Centre.

BAT know pressure is mounting and that they cannot afford to lose another game.

But that's no bad thing, according to injured captain Richard Dibden.

"It will concentrate a few minds, that's for sure," he said.

BAT are expected to be unchanged - which is a blow for up-and-coming all-rounder Sam Walker.

"Sam did well in the recent Cockspur Cup tie at Havant and we were planning to blood him in the Premier League," Dibden explained. "But he's recently left college and started work as a bread van driver so he can buy another car. That means working on Saturday mornings, so all-day cricket is out."

Second-placed Havant, who face Finchley in the Cockspur Cup sixth round at Havant Park on Sunday (1pm), face a tricky visit to Portsmouth.

But, though Paul Gover is at his sister's wedding, paceman Richard Pineo is back to spearhead the attack.

Bashley (Rydal) have an ideal opportunity to improve their lowly standing when winless Liphook & Ripsley visit the BCG.

Matt King's side have managed only two wins in eight starts - and the first of those came at Liphook in mid-May.

The poor results return has left Bashley stagnating in third-from-bottom spot - a position King wants to see bettered in the last quarter of the season.

"If we put a run of wins together now, we might just scramble into the play-offs, but it's a tall order," he said.

"We've got Havant, BAT Sports and Bournemouth in the next three weeks, so a win tomorrow is vital."

There is no place for seasoned all-rounder Neil Taylor, who is expected to drop down to the 2nd XI. At least Bashley will not have to worry about Liphook all-rounder Chris Wright, who played for Middlesex against Hampshire in the Twenty20 Cup in midweek.

Wright, 19, is with Middlesex for a totesport League match in Durham this weekend.

Bournemouth send an unchanged team to Andover, where they, too, need a win to keep alive their play-off prospects.

A heavy defeat at South Wilts last week dropped Bournemouth to fifth spot, one place below a potential play-off slot.

"The top four teams go into the September play-offs and we want to be one of them," skipper Richard Scott said.

It's a key few days for Bournemouth, who face Portsmouth in the Southern Electric Cup semi-finals at BAT Sports on Tuesday evening.

"Last year we had a wonderful night out at the Rose Bowl, eventually losing to Havant - and we'd love to go back," Scott added.

Andover's former Sussex 2nd XI spinner, Jake Dean, is still injured, but Ian Langdown returns to the side at the expense of opener Rob Atkins.
