PROM night at Winton School was one to remember thanks to pupils Kerry Smith and Tania Rackham.

Year 11 pupils were given a party they will never forget after the girls entered a competition run by Bliss Magazine to win the ultimate American-style, star-studded prom.

This amazing party featured a light bar, mixologists, a beauty parlour, PlayStation arcade, a celebrity auction in aid of NSPCC, an uplit dance floor and live performances from hot boy bands McFly and V.

As part of the Bliss Glow by JLo Prom 2004 competition Kerry and Tania won a starring role in a Bliss fashion shoot, makeovers, a prom dress and a limo on the night. Winton School was chosen from more than 5,000 people who entered the competition to describe how they would organise their own prom.

Editor Helen Johnston said she chose Winton School because two pupils, with great ability to describe what they wanted in a prom, unknowingly both entered.

Winner Tania Rackham said: "It was a brilliant night, everyone said they enjoyed it so much."

"If the school had arranged our prom it would have been nice but Bliss had so many more facilities."

The fun began much earlier for Kerry, Tania and a few of their friends as they were pampered the whole day and then driven around Andover in a limo for an hour before turning up to their prom in style.

Tania added: "Andover is quite a little town so I didn't believe for one moment we would win."
