FAYRE: Fantastic! What a turnout for the joint schools summer fayre.

Luckily, the dreadful weather held off, apart from one small shower, and the fayre went full steam ahead.

The Chinook was, as usual, a big crowd-puller.

Early reports indicate that it's looking like another bumper year for fundraising.

A massive thank you must go to the organisers, as it takes months of organisation and a lot of hard work.

POND: The Oakley village pond is now the proud home of three lovely white ducks. It really looks like the drake is going to have his work cut out this summer!

Up until now we must have had the most well-fed duck in north Hampshire - in fact the only duck to turn down regular offerings of bread and even proper duck food!

Now, with the introduction of three new ducks, you can all start feeding them again.

Please drive carefully around the pond area - ducks are not known for their road safety sense and it would be a real shame for them to disappear before we have even got around to naming them!

PLEA: A popular village resident, May Evans, sadly passed away recently and has left her black and white, 12-year-old, neutered tom cat "Timmy" looking for a good home.

It really is Timmy's last chance, so please, if you can offer him a home, call in at 15 Goddards Firs or call 07734 836850 and speak to Clive.
