JUMBLE sale: The Adventure Rangers are having a jumble sale at the Village Club, tomorrow, from 1pm.

They are a youth group that gives young people the chance of energetic outdoor activities.

FOOTBALL: The Youth Football Club will have its signing-on morning tomorrow, from 9.30am to 11am, at Kingsclere Primary School.

They are recruiting for all squads from under-nine to under-16 and for the two girls' teams.

This is a club which rates fair-play awards higher than winning the league and guarantees games for all in the squad.

WELCOME: To Kyle Luke, our new beat officer, who is now beginning to get his feet under, and out from, the Kingsclere desk.

He has already been out and about and is now working himself in, so give him a real Kingsclere welcome when you meet him.

VOLUNTEERS: The First Kingsclere Brownies are looking for a new Tawny Owl. Contact Margaret Peach on 298998.

DON'T forget: To nominate someone deserving for the Volunteer of the Year awards - forms available from the parish office.

GENEALOGY: Classes in using computers for family history research will be held in the Village Club on Wednesday mornings this autumn. More details from Josie Norton on 298059.

VIDEO: Kingsclere Heritage Association has been awarded a grant of £3,056 by Awards for All to buy a professional video camera.

It will be used for making village videos, with the first being the record of the dig on the Roman site at Tidgrove this autumn.
