SUMMER fete: Four Lanes schools are holding their summer fete tomorrow, from 2pm to 5pm.

There will be numerous attractions including tombola stalls, an obstacle course and a raffle.

The main event this year will be a football tournament, with mixed teams from Years 3 to 6 taking part.

Refreshments will be served all afternoon.

NEIGHBOURHOOD Watch cycle treasure hunt and ride: This takes place on Sunday, with departures at 2pm from the Scout Hall, Bowman Road.

The route is about 10 miles long and there are many prizes to be won.

There's no need to book a place in advance, simply turn up on the day with your bikes.

CHRIST Church, Reading Road, events this week: The Fellowship Group meets on Wednesday.

Coffee is served from 9.45am, and the meeting begins at 10.15am.

A service of worship to mark the visit of the Cardinal Archbishop of Florence will be held on Thursday, from 7.30pm.

All are welcome.

Parking will be limited, so those attending are asked to park in the surgery car park next door, or along Reading Road if the church car park is full.

GARDEN competition: It is still not too late to enter your own, or someone else's, garden (front or back) in the parish annual garden competition.

Judging will take place on Sunday, July 18.
