It's crunch time in the Southern Electric Premier League, Division 2 leadership race tomorrow as the top four go head-to-head - provided it stops raining!

Table-topping Lymington visit second-placed Alton, with Hursley Park facing a daunting trip to Ventnor, who have won six of their seven matches.

But, like all the local recreational cricket, the matches are in considerable doubt after this week's heavy rain.

Lymington opened a small window at the Division 2 summit when they thrashed Burridge by ten wickets last week while none of their three promotion rivals played.

If the Alton game does go ahead, Lymington will be boosted by the return of 274-run Ben Craft and, possibly, wicketkeeper Scott Sivier, who damaged ankle ligaments at Hursley Park on June 12 - the last time there was a completed Premier League programme.

Alton name a full strength side, with hard-hitting Richie Morgan returning to the top order.

Hursley Park go to Ventnor minus Hampshire's Billy Taylor - who is in Paul Terry's squad for Sunday's totesport League match at the Rose Bowl - and wicketkeeper Ben Smyth. Jimmy Taylor, recovering from an operation to remove heel spurs from his foot, will don the keeper's gloves.

If their notoriously wet Botley Road ground is playable, Burridge will host a key relegation game against St Cross Symondians.

Injuries, unavailabilities and departures have weakened Burridge, who can ill afford to lose to a St Cross side strengthened by Hampshire's Jimmy Adams, who will play alongside his younger brother, Ben.

St Cross play Sparsholt - visitors to Easton & Martyr Worthy - in the Tichborne Trophy final at The Norman Edwards Ground on Monday evening.

Having won their last two games, Calmore Sports receive Gosport Borough, who moved out of the danger zone with a timely win over Easton last week.
