South Wilts can tighten their stranglehold on the ECB Southern Electric Premier League leadership - if their match against third-placed Bournemouth at Lower Bemerton tomorrow, 11.30am, goes ahead.

The Salisbury club has a four-point lead at the top after six straight wins.

And third-placed Bournemouth have to win it if they are to claw back the 15-point advantage South Wilts enjoy over them.

"It's a key game - no doubting that," says Bournemouth's in-form skipper Richard Scott, whose unbeaten century secured a seven-wicket win over BAT Sports last week.

"South Wilts are going well and are a very decent side at the moment."

Dorset's stand-in captain Tim Lamb returns for South Wilts, whose captain Rob Wade faces a tricky late decision to leave someone out from his 12-man squad.

Business commitments continue to keep Grant Mather out of the Bournemouth side, possibly for the remainder of the season.

But, if the warning from South Wilts stalwart Brian White is to be heeded, it could all be academic anyway.

He warns: "Our square is like a lake after two days of solid rain, and there's going to have to be some serious drying out to do if the game goes ahead."

Second placed Havant go into action against basement boys Old Tauntonians & Romsey still minus Paul Gover and left-arm spinner Phil Loat, who have declared themselves unavailable for all-day cricket.

Liphook, who lie just above OT's. Must again make do without former Hampshire YC's all-rounder Chris Wright, who made his Middlesex debut in this week's Totesport League win over Yorkshire at Headingley.

Champions BAT Sports can ill afford to slip again if the championship trophy is to remain in the Southern Gardens trophy cabinet.

BAT entertain Andover and plan to repeat Tuesday's six-wicket Southern Electric Cup quarter-final win.

They will have to do it without Chris Thomason, whose place goes to Ben Tait in an otherwise unchanged BAT side.

With Ian Langdown, Jerry Hayward and Jake Dean all unavailable, Andover turn to youth to bolster their suspect middle-order.

Steve Williams returns after his A-level exams, while off-spinner Matt Hooper is back from university.

Last week's four-wicket defeat by South Wilts left Bashley (Rydal) in third from bottom position - but comfortably above winless pair Liphook & Ripsley and Old Tauntonians & Romsey.

Bashley visit the Hampshire Academy on the Rose Bowl Nursery ground tomorrow and possibly stand a reasonable chance of playing - provided it stops raining.

With the 2nd XI off duty, Bashley stiffen their middle-order by calling up evergreen Graham Pardey.

Kevin Nash returns after missing the South Wilts game, while Millfield School spinner Matt Waller makes his first appearance of the season.
