CHILDREN at a New Forest school were given their marching orders - during a day out to an Army base.
A total of 86 youngsters from Marchwood Infant School enjoyed a range of activities at Marchwood Military Port.
Pupils climbed on vehicles and enjoyed a boat trip on Southampton Water.
They also had fun with the military police and fire service playfully trying on handcuffs and aiming a fire hose at a traffic cone posing as a mock fire.
At the end of the visit, children, parents and teachers painted their faces in cam cream before marching back to school.
Class teacher Jane Clarke said: "It was brilliant. The children thoroughly enjoyed it as did the parents. The soldiers were wonderful - caring, professional and supportive."
