A woman was killed after the car she was driving left the A31 between Winchester and Alresford.
Catherine Woods (22), of Old Alresford, died at the scene after the silver Citroen ZX hit a tree. Her passenger, a man from Nottingham, was taken to the Royal Hampshire County Hospital and treated for minor injuries.
The crash occurred just before 6pm on Wednesday. It happened on the westbound carriageway on a right-hand bend near the entrance to Matterley Farm.
No other vehicles were involved and police are appealing for witnesses to call them on 0845 045 4545.
