IT'S all change at the top level of Southampton based Carnival UK, the parent company of shipping lines Cunard, P&O Cruises, Princess Cruises, Ocean Village and Swan Hellenic.
The moves come in the wake of an enlarged UK operation that has more than doubled in size since July, 2000 when the original board structure was formed.
David Dingle, managing director of Carnival UK, retains overall control of the business while the new board will be divided into three distinct reporting lines of commercial, product delivery and business strategy and services.
Among the changes Carol Marlow, managing director of Swan Hellenic and UK director of Princess Cruises, will take on the additional role of Europe, Middle East and Africa director for Cunard Line.
She replaces Peter Shanks, who has moved to become managing director of casual cruising operation, Ocean Village. In the area of product delivery Nick Lighton, previously Ocean Village's managing director takes up the position of fleet management director for Carnival UK across all brands.
"These changes will allow us to place maximum emphasis on strategic development and business efficiency while maintaining strong focus on customer service and operational delivery,'' said Mr Dingle.
"Carnival UK is enjoying increased success and growth and this new structure will help capitalise on this as we take the business forward.''
