Eve's Only Son, The Verra Cruz and XisLoaded, The Joiner's Arms, Southampton
FAREHAM four-piece band Eve's Only Son warmed up the Joiner's Arms when they took to the stage to open a quality line-up.
The group opened with a confident, rip-roaring riff which set them up for the rest of their half hour set before The Verra Cruz followed.
This trio opened with two great pure rock tunes before mellowing the set out for the middle numbers.
But the ending had the same energy as the opening song.
Many great things have been said about XisLoaded, but I have never had the chance to hear any of their music until now.
The four-piece band from Bath started with more energy than a shaken-up, freshly-opened can of fizzy drink.
XisLoaded are a must-be-seen live band.
They looked as if they were at a huge venue, with front man Jake Robertson throwing himself around the small stage.
My only wish is I could have seen them when Jake was fighting fit.
As he was suffering from laryngitis, the band could only manage a few numbers. I urge all rock fans to see Xisloaded, be amazed and buy the album Raw Nerve, which is out today.
