DRAMA, dance and music filled Cantell School's hall during an afternoon of celebration to mark the official opening of the £15m complex.
Pupils have been having lessons in the new classrooms of the three-storey school in Violet Road, Southampton, since September.
An open invitation was extended to ex-staff and governors to turn up for the action-packed programme of events at the school which included sports displays and exhibitions of students' art and textile work.
The event was also a celebration of the 1,177-pupil school's new maths and computing specialist status awarded last year.
Head teacher David Burge said: "We are delighted to be holding this event to officially open the new school and celebrate gaining specialist school status."
