A SOUTHAMPTON University student has bared all to capture that provocative pose made famous by call girl Christine Keeler.
Katherine Hopson, 22, is among about half a dozen top Hampshire and Isle of Wight sailors who have stripped to their birthday suits for a saucy fundraising calendar.
They are members of the British sailing team out to win gold at next month's Olympic Games.
The youngest member of the sailing squad, Katherine is pictured sitting naked on a chair inside a viaduct on the London to Brighton railway line. It re-creates the legendary pose by Keeler taken in the 60s. It became an icon of the decade.
The calendar has been produced by the Hamble based Royal Yachting Association and Sail for Gold to raise funds for the British Olympic Sailing.
Katherine, who is busy training with her fellow team members, features in the September section of the calendar which comes out next year. She said: "I did not know about the Keeler picture before but I was very much up for it."
Other Olympic hopefuls from the Hampshire and Isle of Wight area have also breezed into the naked calendar. They are: Lymington based Ben Ainslie, a past gold medallist, and Nick Rogers (November).
Olympic gold medallist Iain Percy, of Winchester, features in June and Shirley Robertson, from the Isle of Wight, is on the July page. Leigh McMillan, also from the Isle of Wight, features in May.
The black and white images are bold and striking and for the first time depict the training and athleticism required to maintain Britain's status as the world leading sailing nation. We won more medals in sailing than any other sport at the Sydney Olympics.
