THOUSANDS of people flocked to Southampton Common for the annual city festival.
Not even the showery weather could stop bumper crowds packing on to the common for the popular weekend event.
On Saturday no balloons managed to take to the skies, but Sunday started with a dawn call for 40 balloonists, who were in the air by 6am.
Throughout the two days crowds were treated to a host of entertainments in show arenas, including balloon demonstrations and a motorcycle display.
The party atmosphere was helped by dozens of arts and craft, plant and charity stalls.
Children of all ages had their pick of fun activities, which included funfair rides, trampolining and wall climbing.
More balloons were set to take off from the common last night, weather permitting, to mark the end of another successful event.
