TRAVELLERS have returned to a popular Southampton park just weeks after a group caused a clean-up operation costing thousands of pounds when they were evicted.
Around six vans arrived at the Archery recreation ground in Woolston on Tuesday.
Nearby residents, who are furious children and families will again not be able to use the site, fear more mess will be left behind.
Last month a group which stayed at the park for around two weeks before being evicted by police and the city council left behind mounds of rubble, rubbish and human faeces.
Civic leaders had to gain a court order to get the dozen caravans moved on.
A city council spokesman said legal action was under way again.
