THE summer sounds of the legendary Beach Boys will be making fundraising waves for Eastleigh mayor June Hughes' charity appeal.
The unique brand of chart topping music is being brought to The Point, Eastleigh by tribute band, the UK Beach Boys.
To set the scene for the concert, which is on Friday July 30, the mayor and Kim Garner, who is on the mayor's fundraising committee, quickly got into the mood to turn rainswept Eastleigh into a tropical oasis.
They are hoping that the garlands and cocktails will be a reminder of how the Beach Boys beat always kept the summer alive in the swinging 60s.
In 2004 their music still has a big appeal to audiences around the globe.
The UK Beach Boys are currently on a nationwide tour and Kim said: "We were lucky to get them because they only had one available date."
Brian Wilson, one of the original Beach Boys, has been playing to sell-out concerts across the UK.
The tribute band spent six months rehearsing the huge repertoire of Beach Boys hits before taking their show on the road about two years ago.
The UK Beach Boys concert, which is also being held during the Eastleigh Summer Music Festival fortnight, is the first major fundraiser for the mayor's appeal - raising cash for St John Ambulance in Hedge End, Volunteer Reading Help and the Ruth Padday drop-in centre for teenagers at Hedge End.
