MEN in skirts and Austin Powers were the inspirations for Cricklade College's recent fashion show.
Art and design students used psychedelic colours and bold 60s patterns for their creations. The first year students in fashion and textiles had been told to create outfits for characters in the Mike Myers film. One student, Kirsty
Sears, has been strongly influenced by Stella McCartney. This was evident in her collection, which was a mixture of tweed and chiffons.
Kirsty has just finished an A-Level in fashion and textiles as well as an AVCE in art and design.
Another student, David Crannaford, was inspired by John Paul Gaultier. David wants to change the common rules of how men dress.
The student who has just completed foundation studies in art and design said: "It's not about men wearing women's clothes, it's about men wearing what they feel comfortable in."
The Mayor and Mayoress of Test Valley Neville and Janet Whiteley, with other visitors, enjoyed a lively and energetic display of fresh talent.
The show was part of a creative theme, which included a collection of photography, ceramics and fine art.
