FOLLOWING an article that appeared in Monday's Daily Echo on the Hampshire Football Association's crackdown on on-field discipline, we should clarify the following:
1 Each team playing in the various leagues governed by the Hampshire FA are given a pre-season quota of disciplinary points allowed. It is only when clubs go 20 points or more over their permitted quota that the HFA fine system comes into effect.
2 The example we used of BAT reaching a 20-point penalty limit and being liable for HFA fines was misleading as their permitted quota for two teams for the season was 280 and their tally was 117, even with skipper Paul Masters' own 21-point haul.
3 BAT and Paul Masters were used as an example to explain the HFA disciplinary proceedure and not singled out as a club/player with any disciplinary problems.
We apologise for the inaccuracy of Monday's report and for any inconvenience caused.
