SIXTIES pop icon Heinz Burt's former backing group joined revellers at a rock 'n' roll party to celebrate the naming of an Eastleigh road after him.
The Saints made a special pilgrimage to the town for the event at Eastleigh Railway Club.
Heinz became one of the Eastleigh's famous sons as the bass guitarist with The Tornados who rocketed to fame with that legendary disc Telstar.
When he went solo, The Saints were his first backing group and were with him when the blond pop idol shot into the top five with Just Like Eddie.
Heinz died four years ago after a brave battle against motor neurone disease.
But his name lives on in his home town where a street has been named after him in a new development on the former Pirelli factory site.
The Saints' drummer Ricky Winter said: "I have been looking forward to this tribute night and having photographs taken in Heinz Burt Close is quite a moving thing for me. This tribute to Heinz is well deserved."
