CHILDREN who attend Overton Pre-school Playgroup are independent and caring - according to a glowing report compiled by Government inspectors.
The Ofsted inspectors also said the 63 children at the playgroup are provided with a "very good" nursery education and that the organisation is led and managed to a "very high standard".
The report's authors go on to state that staff provide an interesting and stimulating environment and that children who attend the group make excellent progress towards early learning goals.
Emma Twamley, a member of the playgroup management committee, said: "Every single aspect they have looked at came back as 'very good' - this is a very high-quality report.
"We serve a huge part of the community in Overton, and surrounding areas such as Oakley and Whitchurch, but we do have spaces available. In this area there is a demand for places, and we are trying to get the message out."
Following the report, playgroup staff are to hold an open day tomorrow for parents to find out more.
The playgroup, which has bases at Overton Community Centre and Overton Primary School, is currently signing up new pre-schoolers.
Tomorrow's open day will be held at Overton Community Centre, in Winchester Street, between 10am and noon.
