Totton went carnival crazy as the town turned out to celebrate some of the best loved films in the history of Hollywood.
The event, which had Movie Mania as its theme, upheld an age-old tradition by taking place on a wet and windy day.
Gene Kelly's Singing in the Rain would have been a suitable subject for any of the groups that entered the procession on Saturday.
But most of the people taking part paid tribute to more modern films.
The 7th New Forest North Calmore Scout Group provided a bit of Yabba Dabba Do by entering a float based on The Flintstones.
A group of swashbucklers from the New Inn at Main Road, Hounsdown, boarded the good ship Black Pearl to publicise Pirates of the Caribbean.
The floats and groups of walkers were judged by New Forest East MP Julian Lewis, Totton county councillor Edith Randall and Neal Scott, newly elected chairman of Totton and Eling Town Council.
Dr Lewis said: "We've seen some brilliantly inventive floats and costumes."
