A WRIST injury has ruled BAT Sports all-rounder Damian Shirazi out of the Southern Electric Premier League side to face Hampshire in tomorrow and Wednesday evening's Twenty20 Challenge matches.
Shirazi picked up an injury playing for Hampshire 2nd XI and missed out on his BAT Sports return in Sunday's rain-ruined Premier League clash against South Wilts.
But the Premier League have arguably stiffened their side by calling up Portsmouth's Carl Bradfield, who regularly opens the batting for Eastern Province in South African First Class cricket.
The first Twenty20 Challenge match is at Bournemouth Sports Club's Chapel Gate ground tomorrow, and the second at BAT Sports, Totton, on Wednesday.
Both matches start at 6pm, with the teams playing in coloured clothing and bowling with white cricket balls out of black sightscreens.
The SPL squad includes six players with First Class experience, four of them having previously played for Hampshire.
Among the latter quartet is Havant's Richard Hindley, who played one championship match against Glamorgan last summer and who played for Hampshire 2nds against Sussex 2nds only last week (see scorecard on facing page).
The SPL squad also includes New Zealander Neal Parlane, who last year broke Robin Smith's Premier League run record whileplaying for champions BAT.
SPL squad: Richard Scott (Bournemouth, captain), Jason Laney (South Wilts), Carl Bradfield (Portsmouth), David Banks (BAT Sports), Lee Savident (Portsmouth), Roger Miller (Andover), Richard Hindley (Havant), Richard Pineo (Havant), Rob Hodgson (Bournemouth), Dan Goldstraw (BAT Sports), Shawn Gillies (Bashley-Rydal), Neal Parlane (BAT Sports).
