PETER Andre set Portsmouth Guildhall ablaze as part of the jungle survivor's Insania Tour.
A near capacity crowd of screaming pre-teen girls created a deafening atmosphere.
The singer got off to a slow start but his performance grew in confidence and he was visibly enjoying the hollering army of young girls (most of which would not have remembered his mid-90s fame) responding to his every gyration.
Although the abdominally-blessed 31-year-old was more tuneful than I expected, doubts remain about his vocal ability and he struggled with any note lower than a Michael Jackson trill.
He is frank about his return being based on nothing more than having taken part in I'm a Celebrity - Get Me Out of Here!
All Cried Out, a self-penned song about the fickleness of pop, was sung with charge and emotion.
The tour has been hastily put together, lacking dancers and material. A number of cover versions were performed, including The Eagles' Hotel California, but his slick dance moves and sex appeal inspired the faithful.
Needless to say, the bouncy and irrepressible number one hit Mysterious Girl ignited an already booming auditorium, and he left the stage to a thunder of applause, feet-stomping and ear-piercing screams.
