DRESSING up as a pink pixie may seem a little immature for a 16-year-old - but for one Hampshire teenager it is all in a bid to achieve her dream of performing on a London stage.
When Jeni Hart won a prestigious place on a workshop at the National Youth Theatre during the summer the only problem was affording it. Undeterred, the plucky teenager organised a sponsored walk around Southamp-ton Common dressed head to toe in a pink pixie outfit.
Jeni, who is currently taking her GCSEs at Regents Park school Southampton, said: "I just thought it was a fun thing to do. All in all, I need to raise around £500.
"Some of my friends are doing it with me too so it should be fun. I was really pleased to get a place, I love stage acting but my ambition is to be a writer."
Half the money raised will be donated to the Rose Road Appeal.
Jeni's proud mum Eileen Hart of Chiltern Green, Millbrook, said: "She wanted to raise the money, not only for herself, but also for children."
