MEMBERS of Andover Music Hall handed over a cheque for £250 to the British Heart Foundation in support of one of its staunchest supporters - Laurie Broadhurst, aged 76.
Laurie, who lives in Nester Close, Andover, has suffered two serious heart attacks and also received cardiac treatment on two further visits to hospital last year.
But he's a real fighter.
He doesn't let such setback get him down for long. As part of his fitness regime Laurie swam in the recent British Heart Foundation sponsored swim.
He collected £280 and Andover Music Hall voted to hand over the £250 cheque as further support for Laurie's efforts and the work of the charity. Mr Brian Page, who is branch chairman of the British Heart Foundation praised Laurie.
"He demonstrates that even serious heart problems can be overcome and life can be enjoyed to the full."
