HAMPSHIRE cricketers made young Brad Burgess's day when he got the chance to meet them for a special event at the Rose Bowl.
The 14-year-old from Winchester, who has a muscle degenerative condition and receives care at children's hospice Naomi House, was presented with an Olympic baton by cricket heroes Shane Warne, Sean Udal and Robin Smith.
The baton has been making its way to children's hospices all over the country, collecting messages inside from youngsters keen to wish the British Olympic squad luck before they leave for Athens in July.
Now it has almost completed its journey, having been all the way to Northern Island, Wales, Scotland and down through the Midlands.
Brad got to collect the baton on behalf of Naomi House at Hampshire Cricket in Botley Road, West End, before it is whisked away to Surrey, then Kent and finally to London before jetting off to Greece with the athletics team.
